Josh Mann grew up outside Arcata, deep in Humboldt County — one of the original centers of American functional glass. He has been blowing glass for over thirty years, and it shows in every piece he makes.
Josh works across the full range of functional forms: spoons, sherlocks, hammers, rigs, and one-of-a-kind heady pieces. He is technically accomplished in wig-wag and reticello work — two of the most demanding patterning techniques in the craft — and he is an expert at fuming, the process of vaporizing precious metals onto glass to create color that shifts with the angle of light.
